We believe that every individual has a story worth sharing. Are you ready to tell yours?
Stephanie Angelyn Casola founded Prologue in 2016. The Michigan-based PR firm provides content, digital media and professional communications services to businesses and individuals who are passionate about what they do. Prologue specializes in industries she knows well - arts and entertainment, design, hospitality, food and beverage and beyond.
She brings a dynamic perspective to every project, having more than two decades of professional experience working with and within the media industry. She started her career as a reporter in metro Detroit covering everything from hard news to entertainment - writing film, art and music reviews.
An early adopter of social media, Stephanie transitioned into PR and event marketing. She built a career on creative concepts and an ability to earn clients a steady stream of notable press.
Ask her what it’s like to sell out a major event in short order, earn national attention for a locally beloved restaurant, or welcome in the Wall Street Journal to feature a client’s Mid Century Modern home.
There are stories to spare.
Once dubbed the "Queen Bee of hustle, media relations and coolness” by her fellow TEDxDetroit producers, Stephanie grew up an avid fan of scary movies, modern art and indie rock. When she's not working, you’ll find her at home firing up the moka pot, feeding two very needy cats or plotting the next travel adventure with her partner, Chris.
“As a writer, I have never taken the ability to tell a good story for granted. It was that hunt for information and the puzzle of precisely crafting it together for readers that first drew me into journalism. The same ethics that grounded me as a reporter still guide me today.”
- Stephanie Angelyn Casola, founder of Prologue

Can public relations help my business appear in ChatGPT?
Yes. While no agency can guarantee that a business will appear in a specific AI platform, strategic public relations can increase your digital visibility. Media coverage, authoritative website content, expert commentary and consistent brand messaging all contribute to the trustworthy online presence that AI search tools often rely on when generating responses.
What is AI search optimization?
AI search optimization is the practice of creating clear, authoritative and well-structured content that helps AI-powered search tools understand your business clearly and confidently reference it in answers. Unlike traditional SEO, AI search focuses on providing complete, accurate information that directly answers users' questions.
What is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?

Prologue Public Relations
What does a public relations agency do?
A public relations agency helps organizations build credibility, increase visibility and strengthen their reputation through strategic communications. At Prologue, we develop customized public campaigns that include media relations, press releases, website content, executive thought leadership, event promotion, social media advising and brand storytelling. Our goal is to connect clients with the audiences that matter most while helping them earn meaningful media coverage and long-term recognition.
How can strategic communications help my business grow?
Effective public relations increases awareness, builds trust and positions your organization as an industry leader. Media coverage, compelling website content and consistent messaging can improve brand recognition, strengthen customer relationships, attract investors, recruit employees and even support search engine visibility. Strong strategic communication creates momentum that supports long-term business growth.
When should a business hire a public relations agency?
Many businesses wait until they have a major announcement, but public relations is most effective when it's part of an ongoing strategy. Consider hiring a PR agency when you're launching a business or product, expanding into new markets, hosting an event, seeking media coverage, building thought leadership or navigating organizational change. Consistent communications often produce better long-term results than one-time publicity efforts.
Is public relations worth the investment for a small business?
Yes. Public relations can help small businesses compete with much larger organizations by earning credible media coverage and building a recognizable brand. Well-placed news stories and consistent results can introduce your business to thousands of potential customers while strengthening your reputation within your community and industry.
How long does it take to see results from public relations?
Some announcements receive media attention within days, while broader reputation-building campaigns develop over several months. Public relations is a long-term investment that builds credibility and business over time. Consistent storytelling and strategic communications typically produce stronger and more sustainable results than one-time campaigns.
How do you measure the success of a public relations campaign?
Success depends on your goals. At Prologue, we evaluate results using metrics such as earned media coverage, audience reach, website traffic, search visibility, referral traffic, social engagement, event attendance and inquiries generated through communications efforts. We focus on meaningful outcomes.
What industries benefit most from public relations?
Nearly every industry benefits from strategic communications. Prologue has experience supporting clients in hospitality, restaurants, wineries, higher education, nonprofits, arts and culture, architecture, economic development, professional services and small businesses. Every organization has stories worth telling. We help identify and share them.
Does Prologue specialize in any particular industries?
Prologue partners with organizations that value authentic storytelling and thoughtful communications. We often work with businesses who are just getting started or entering a new chapter. Our clients include startups, nonprofits, restaurants, wineries, educational institutions, cultural organizations, small businesses, major events and established companies looking to strengthen their visibility, reputation and community impact.
Prologue Media Relations
How do I get my business featured in the news?
News coverage begins with a story that matters to a publication's audience. Journalists look for timely, relevant and meaningful stories. Prologue helps identify newsworthy angles, develops compelling pitches and builds relationships with reporters to increase opportunities for earned media coverage.
How do journalists decide which stories to cover?
Reporters evaluate stories based on newsworthiness, relevance, timing, community impact and audience interest. They may receive hundreds of pitches each day, so clear, concise and well-targeted communication is essential. As a former journalist, Prologue understands what editors and reporters need and crafts pitches accordingly.
How does Prologue pitch reporters?
We research reporters who regularly cover topics relevant to each client, then develop customized email pitches that explain why the story matters to their readers, viewers or listeners. We believe strong relationships and thoughtful communication will produce better results.
What makes a story newsworthy?
Newsworthy stories often involve something new, timely, unusual or impactful. Announcements involving innovation, community benefit, local relevance, business growth, leadership changes, trends, research, events or human interest frequently attract media attention. Prologue helps clients identify the strongest angles and manages announcements for maximum impact.
Will public relations improve my Google and AI search visibility?
Public relations can indirectly improve search visibility by generating authoritative backlinks, increasing brand mentions, driving website traffic and producing high-quality content. Media coverage also strengthens your organization's online credibility, which can benefit both traditional search engines and AI-powered search experiences.
Can public relations improve my online reputation?
Yes. Consistent media coverage, accurate messaging, thought leadership and quality website content all contribute to a stronger digital reputation. Public relations helps ensure people find trustworthy, positive information about your organization when they search online.
How do I prepare for a television, radio, online or print interview?
Preparation begins with identifying your key messages, anticipating questions and practicing concise responses. Prologue provides media coaching to help clients feel confident, stay on message and communicate effectively during interviews with journalists.
Prologue Event Promotion
Can Prologue promote an event?
Yes. Prologue develops strategic public relations campaigns for events of all sizes, from grand openings and fundraisers to conferences, festivals, exhibitions and community celebrations. Depending on your goals, our services may include media outreach, press releases, event messaging, social media content, interview coordination and communications before, during and after the event. Our objective is to build awareness, attract attendees and generate meaningful media coverage.
How do you attract media coverage for an event?
Media coverage begins with identifying what makes an event newsworthy. Reporters are looking for stories that are timely, unique, relevant to their audience or connected to larger trends. Prologue works with clients to develop compelling story angles, prepare press materials, pitch the right journalists and coordinate interviews before the event. We focus on creating opportunities for coverage rather than simply announcing that an event is taking place.
How do I choose the right public relations firm for my restaurant or hospitality business?
Hospitality is one of Prologue's strongest areas of expertise. We help restaurants, wineries, breweries, hotels and hospitality businesses introduce themselves to their communities through strategic public relations, media relations, website content, brand storytelling and launch communications. Whether you're opening your doors for the first time or introducing a new concept, we help ensure your story reaches the right audiences.
How early should I begin promoting an event?
For most public events, it's best to begin planning communications at least two to three months in advance. Larger conferences, festivals or fundraising events often require even more lead time, especially if you're seeking feature stories in magazines or regional publications. Starting early allows time to build momentum, coordinate interviews and maximize opportunities for earned media coverage.
